WHAT IS THE "TAKE IT IN STRIDES RUN"?

A LITTLE BIT
ABOUT OUR
STORY
The Take It In Strides run was born from a shared commitment to raising awareness and supporting mental health and suicide prevention. This powerful event encourages participants to take bold steps, not just for their physical health, but for their emotional well-being, breaking the stigma and starting conversations that truly matter. Every stride taken is a step toward healing, hope, and a stronger, more resilient community, proving that together, we can make a difference and move forward with strength and purpose.
WHO WE
SUPPORT
Supporting Mental Health In Thunder Bay & The Region
Canadian Mental Health Association
+
Children's Centre Foundation
Supporting Health & Wellness Services For Children & Families
The CMHA provides vital mental health services, advocacy, and education, while the Children's Center Foundation offers a safe space for young people in need of support. By supporting these organizations, the event helps ensure that essential resources are available for those facing mental health challenges, creating a stronger, more resilient community.
Join us for the third annual Take It In Strides Run as we commemorate loved ones lost to suicide and continue our commitment to suicide prevention.
Thanks to your incredible support, The last two years we raised over $100,000. Let's come together again this year to make an even bigger impact.
This event is a charitable initiative where you can either run 5 km or 10 km, walk 3 km, or participate virtually in any activity of your preference from any location to pay tribute to a loved one lost to suicide and promote awareness about prevention.
The aim of this event is to offer support to individuals struggling with mental health challenges by demonstrating the support of their community. It also seeks to equip those who have someone battling mental illness with the necessary knowledge to provide assistance.
Before the physical event, we are looking to partner with organizations such as the CCTB and the CMHA to promote online workshops and training sessions to educate people on suicide prevention.
The proceeds from the Take It In Strides Run will be donated to the
Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and the Children’s Centre Foundation (CCTB).
Participants will be encouraged to provide support, demonstrate resilience, share personal narratives, and honour those who have passed away.
This year, we will be hosting a spaghetti dinner on
September 6, 2024, at 6:00 pm.
Location: 200 Van Norman St, Thunder Bay, ON P7A 4B8.
WHEN & WHERE IS IT?
This year’s run will occur on Sunday, September 8th, at Boulevard Lake, Thunder Bay. Alternatively, you can participate virtually from any location by engaging in any activity of your choice to commemorate a loved one lost to suicide and advocate for suicide prevention.
